Documentary by Carol Marin on Jeff Fort, the leader of the Chicago gangs the Blackstone Rangers and El Rukn. Carol Marin discusses Fort’s early days as a commander of the Blackstone Rangers in the 1960s, as well as his street moniker, Angel. Marin starts to recount Fort’s biography, including his early days as a Woodlawn community leader and his lifelong illiteracy. He interviews persons who worked in Woodlawn during the 1960s, including a priest and a police officer, about the era’s environment. Marin talks to a man who knew Fort when he was a teenager. She narrates the Rangers’ transformation into the Black P. Stone Nation.
