Is It Time For An Upgrade?

This is my CAT 259B3 skid steer, it’s over 10 years old and it has been extremely reliable.
However, it does have a few flaws- the cab lets in a lot of dust, and I have to build a ramp in order to reach high enough to load trucks.
I just got the chance to check out CAT’s next generation of compact track loaders. @catconstructiontrade

There’s a ton of new features- Let me tell you about a couple of my favorites.
Starting with the cab, it’s roomier, easier to get in and out of, and all the controls are at your fingertips with the new joysticks.
Loading trucks is now less challenging.
The 265 has a lift height of 132”.
They were able to make the machines more stable by lowering the engine 4 inches, and up the fuel capacity by adding dual tanks.
OK, so how do they run?
These machines are definitely torquey.
The new 255 has 13% more torque than a 259D3, and the new 265 has 43% more torque than a 289D3.
So, I made a big mistake by running these machines, because now I want one.
Let me know in the comments if you think it’s time for an upgrade. @hausplans
