Nothing transforms a space more than color.
So, we were excited to see the painters get started on the offices in the warehouse.
After priming the walls and rolling the first coat of color; they caulked all the trim, spackled and sanded the nail holes.
They removed all the interior doors and set them up in the warehouse so that they could be sprayed.
This took a little more time but turned out amazing.
You can see here how they caulked the molding around the windows and taped off the glass.
Rather than removing any hinge screws they just pulled the pins on the doors and then taped off the hinges.
This ensures that none of the screw holes get stripped and the doors reinstall with the same margins.
They also sprayed the casing and door jambs.
After the first coat they sanded everything down, and then sprayed them a second time.
I was impressed with this crew- they made it look easy, and I’ve done just enough painting to know that it’s not.
These are Sherwin Williams colors; the trim is Iron Ore, and the walls are Repose Gray and Bunglehouse Blue.
Let me know in the comments if you say “Yay” or “Nay” to the black trim. @hausplans
