2,000 dollars- that’s how much this roller cost.
It’s a CASE 602 D Vibratory Roller.
It weighs just over 14,000 pounds and has a 50-gallon fuel tank.
So was this the best deal ever or an absolute piece of junk?
Let’s find out…
The deutz diesel fires right up.
The oil light always stays on- actually that might be hydraulic oil; regardless, there’s good engine oil pressure.
We’ve used this machine for over a year now and other than a broken hydraulic hose, it’s been super reliable.
Honestly, if blows up tomorrow we definitely got 2,000 dollars’ worth of use out of it, and hopefully it keeps running a while longer.
Plus, it’s a two-seater- so there’s room for a friend.
What good is it having a roller if you don’t crush a bunch junk with it?
We lined up this broken chair and outdated electronics. Let’s see what happens.
I wasn’t sure if it would flatten this stuff or just keep pushing it along.
You can see it got the job done. This is a great way to take out some stress.
Let me know in the comments what’s an old piece of equipment or machine that you own that just keeps on running? @hausplans
