The renters for this building need a spray booth with a pit underneath it
Using string and some stakes I carefully laid everything out.
Then I marked the outline with spray paint so I could see where to dig.
Here you can see what the pit looks like- it’s rather complex.
The spray booth gets installed after we’re done with the building, but the pit needs to go in now before we pour the concrete floor.
As the paint is sprayed- the fumes are drawn down through the grate in the middle of the floor into a filtration system, over through this tunnel, up through another filtration system behind the mixing room, and finally exit through the roof.
There was about a foot to eighteen inches of compacted gravel that was put down before this building was built.
As I dug, I kept the gravel separated from the dirt so I could reuse the gravel in the parking lot.
Once we started digging dirt- we were able to back a dump truck right into the building and load. This made things go a lot quicker.
