Richard Oland of the Moosehead brewing family — one of the richest, most powerful men in the region – was dead, bludgeoned in his office in 2011. Charged and convicted in 2015 with the brutal killing, the victim’s son, Dennis Oland. But then this year there were some unexpected twists: Dennis Oland wins his appeal and he is set free. Now the prosecutors say they will ask the Supreme Court of Canada to review the decision by the New Brunswick Court of Appeal to overturn Oland’s second-degree murder conviction . Bob McKeown investigates a tangled family tale that ended in murder – with many questions still unanswered.
