The guys rake a recessed area for 2” foam insulation that goes at the edge of the foundation.
There’s a two-foot vertical piece and two-foot horizontal piece.
We take 4×8 sheets of foam and split them in half to get the rips we need.
This keeps the frost from coming through the floor.
Next using a laser level, the guys rake all the gravel perfectly flat.
We put in our under-slab plumbing and get it inspected.
Then we put down a 6-mil poly vapor barrier everywhere.
I like to tape the seams.
The guys use spray paint to mark out the rebar grid on the plastic- 18” on center running both ways.
We start with full 20 footers and then cut the remaining pieces to finish the ends.
After the grid has been laid off in both directions and the rebar chairs are in place, they tie everything off with a cordless rebar tying gun.
Now we’re ready to pour concrete. @hausplans
