A bunch of you commented on my trailer rewire video that you prefer solder connectors over the crimp connectors I used.
So, I ordered some solder connectors from the same manufacturer to compare.
This is not an ad – I don’t even know how to pronounce the name, but I do really like their products.
When the solder connector is in place, a heat gun is used to melt the solder and shrink tube.
Both style connectors are marine grade and have adhesive that’s activated when heated.
To compare them I made several small wire loops with a solder connector on one side and a crimp connector on the other- both are crazy strong.
I put each loop over my vice and started backing it out to see which one would break. @hausplans
