Aaron Veckey, a former Border Patrol agent, describes walking into a freezing cell with 60 men piled together, “intertwined, hugging each other… to try to stay warm,” after agents failed to turn on heaters or provide blankets. Some agents, he says, laughed and told him, “Well, this is what they get for coming here.”
