The Necromancer is one of the most fearsome sorcerers in the myth and history of magic. But, what do we actually now about the real, historical practice of necromancy in the Middle Ages? This week we are going to dispel some myths about medieval necromancy by taking at look at Brian Johnson’s new translation of excerpts from a manual of black magic found in the library of the Medici Popes.
