Should reports of investigations of police behaviour be made public? How should competing interests in transparency, accountability, privacy and confidentiality be dealt with? the fifth estate’s Mark Kelley moderated a panel at Ryerson University hosted by the Centre for Free Expression on secrecy, police conduct and the public’s right to know. The panel consists of: Julian Falconer of Falconers LLP; Joanne Mulcahy, criminal defence lawyer; Pascale Diverlus, co-founder of Black Lives Matter Toronto and David Goodis, assistant commissioner at the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.
