We did a job where the clients wanted new kitchen countertops, but they wanted to save their old cabinets; so we had to locate the screws under the Formica in order to remove their old countertops.
Some older Formica countertops are built in place and screwed from the top before the Formica is applied.
Our client had experience working on aircraft and he recommended using a magnet to locate the screws.
