Deck Footings That Are Too Low- Here’s How I Fixed The Problem With Help From @HomeDepot #ad

I’ve got a problem- The deck footings on our new house are four feet lower than the basement floor, but I came up with a solution. @HomeDepot #ad #build #homedepotpartner #THDPro

To start with, I ordered everything I need for this project from The Home Depot and to save time had it delivered to the jobsite including this Makita 40-volt hammer drill.
I couldn’t believe how fast it drilled holes in concrete.
So, here’s how I’m going to fix the problem.
I’m going to form up and pour piers on top of the existing footings. These will support the deck posts.
By epoxying rebar into the concrete, the piers and footings will be pinned together.
Next, I build the forms out of ¾” plywood. The forms are different heights so I number them to keep track of where they go.
They are three-sided so they can slide around the rebar; then I screw on the fourth side.
I attach the bottom of the forms to the concrete with Tapcons.
Finally, I plumb and brace the forms using grade stakes and 2x4s.
If you’re short on time like me- try having The Home Depot deliver to your jobsite.
Once this is inspected, I’m gonna pour this myself – let me know in comments if you wanna see it. @hausplans
