This $2,000,000 Porsche 918 burned to the ground… but somehow, its 11-year-old battery survived.
So obviously, I had to take it apart.
In this video, we crack open the hybrid battery from a fire-damaged Porsche 918 Spyder — and what we found inside is insane. Despite being roasted and over a decade old, the battery still looks like a piece of EV engineering art. Built by Williams Advanced Engineering, this thing has thermal design features that outperform even some modern EVs.
