Creating virtual servers is a great way to test your code on real operating systems without having to buy a new computer. There are many products that allow you to create and run virtual servers but many of them cost a decent amount of money.
VirtualBox is free for personal and educational use, and has been a go to product for well over a decade. It allows you to install an operating system within a window on your computer and easily switch between your normal operating system and it. So if you want to run Linux on Windows, or Windows on a Mac VirtualBox is a decent solution.
This class will explain the concepts behind virtualization. We’ll configure VirtualBox and explain the settings. And install and run Linux in a virtual machine.
