This beautiful 2008 Toyota Highlander is another victim of a fake oil filter. The 3.5L V6 in this car developed a horrible ticking sound which was traced to an oil filter that came apart and caused damage to the variable valve timing gear!
Folks be careful with your parts purchases! Counterfeit parts are everywhere and you need to really be careful!
The ticking sound on this engine developed because of lack of oil from this oil filter which for lack of a better word just crumpled apart!
