January 9, 2021 7675 Views

In a rare bit of footage from the 1960s, Alan Watts delivers a short speech about how we’ve divided things up into boxes. His phrase, “little boxes made of ticky-tacky” made it into Malvina Reynold’s song “Little Boxes,” which gained even more popularity when covered by Pete Seeger in 1963. In this video, he also begins singing Malvina’s song.
