The Jackson Hole Economic Symposium is an annual central banking conference that has been held in Jackson Hole, Wyoming for the last 40 years. It’s sponsored by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. This year’s focus is “macroeconomic policy in an uneven economy.”
Around 120 people attend every year, central bankers, academics, market participants, and finance ministers from around the world.
Fed Chairman Jerome Powell is expected to speak on Friday possibly giving some insight on the plans to taper the $120 billion-a-month government bond-buying program that helped the stock market to double since the March 2020 low.
