Bob Barker on zoo elephants and the roots of his animal activism (2012) – the fifth estate

Barker is an animal lover and has become an animal activist, lobbying for the release of elephants in captivity. In 2007, he lobbied on behalf of Maggie, Alaska’s lone elephant. Maggie was retired to the PAWS sanctuary on November 1, 2007. He has also lobbied on behalf of the Edmonton Valley Zoo’s elephant Lucy, and the Toronto elephants Iringa, Toka and Thika.
