While we wait on permits, my wife and I decided to go on an adventure- somewhere where there’s ice on the beach.
This country has a landscape like no other- you feel like you’re on another planet.
It’s completely surrounded by water and there’s waterfalls everywhere.
I almost fell and busted my butt trying to get to this one, but it was worth it.
So push pause and leave a guess in the comments where you think we are.
That’s right, it’s Iceland.
This place is like nothing I’ve ever seen.
There’s a Ring road around the entire country and we’re taking five days to drive it.
So far we’re about 1/3 of the way- we rented this little Suzuki Jimmy, and this thing is so much fun.
It’s got a Four-wheel-drive, high and low, and a five speed manual transmission.
On day one we headed to this Hot Springs area called the “Blue Lagoon”.
The road was closed and we had to take a detour due to a recent volcanic eruption.
They were cleaning up the cool lava with this CAT 330 and truckin’ it away.
It’s not every day you see a truck of lava going by.
The Blue Lagoon was awesome- It was nice to be in hot water when it’s freezing cold outside.
We’ve got about a 5 1/2 hour drive tomorrow, but right now my wife’s just chillin’ on the beach. @hausplans
