Trust me when I tell you that most people do not read contracts or leases. And a lease is a contract.
As a Landlord your job is to construct your lease well, go over it with the tenant, and enforce it to the letter. Use your discretion if you want to alter it and be sure your lease is tailored to fit your local landlord-tenant laws.
