I’m gonna let you guys in on a secret – something I learned late in life that I wish I would have known a lot sooner.
I have dyslexia and was never good at school. Not being good at school- I was always made to feel stupid from an early age.
My wife and I were building spec houses when the ‘08 Housing Crash hit, and we got killed.
As a result of this we were forced to take on any custom work we could find just to survive.
Thankfully we got hired by several wealthy families in our area that had large businesses with lots of employees.
They did not inherit money- these were businesses they started themselves.
I always just assumed that people with big businesses were super smart.
Here’s the crazy thing- I realized they weren’t necessarily any smarter than me or anyone else.
But what they did have was persistence.
We saw these families go through some crazy hardships and never give up.
So here’s the thing I would say to you- you’re far more capable than you realize.
It doesn’t matter how good you did in school, where you live, or what your last name is.
You may fail several times along the way, but if you’re willing to take calculated risks, work hard, and be persistent- I believe you will succeed. @hausplans
