Selfish, spoiled people have always existed, but it seems a lot more common now. I think growing up on a farm or crossing the Wild West gave people character, but watching spongebob with oreos and getting stimulus checks doesn’t.
The fall of Rome happened the same way – The Romans grew rich and soft and lost their sense of responsibility. It was all about what more they could have, and not about how the strength of Rome came from them. We didn’t learn anything. Well, I did.
Anyway. Here’s a short video on what entitlement looks like and how to avoid it. They key is to look for people who talk a lot about what they want, but can’t connect it to what they give back.
