Former Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert’s visit to Canada in fall 2025 coincides with a big week, as Palestinian statehood takes centre stage at a United Nations special summit. Prime Minister Mark Carney said Canada now officially recognizes the state of Palestine. Several other world leaders are doing the same.
Ioanna Roumeliotis sat down with Olmert in Tel Aviv in August to discuss the ongoing settler attacks against Palestinians and his views on the path to peace amid the war in Gaza.
