How To Change The Blade On A Circular Saw

Can a regular framing blade cut through solid rock? Let’s find out.
Actually, it can- I was surprised.
Ok so this blade was already dull and needs to be replaced- I thought I’d show you how to change the blade on a circular saw.
First thing you want to do is remove the battery.
Next, we need to loosen this bolt.
Most saws have a tool on them for taking off the blade- this one has an allen wrench on the side.
You’ll notice the blade just wants to spin, so we need to push the spindle lock. This holds the blade in place so you can loosen the bolt.
Here you can see it lock in- now I can finally loosen the bolt.
After the bolt is removed, raise up the guard and slide the blade out the bottom. Make sure to save the flange.
Time to pop in the new blade. You want the teeth pointing up at the front. Usually the side with the writing is on the outside.
Reinstall the flange, the bolt; then engage the spindle lock so you can tighten the bolt.
You want it snug, but don’t overtighten it.
Now I can go back to cutting rocks. @hausplans
