We’ve got a problem, the plumbers forgot to install a drain in the master shower- or did they?
Check it out- this is a Brizo linear drain.
Let me show you exactly how we installed it.
First, we trimmed the width of it to fit our shower.
This drain is made out of stainless steel, so I chose to use a grinder with a cut-off wheel to trim it.
Next, I tested it to make sure it fit like I wanted it to.
I like how they included this small lifting handle which makes it easy to remove the drain for cleaning.
This drain is designed to have tile thin set right into it.
Our tile installer cut all the pieces for the whole shower floor and laid them out to make sure everything fit before thin setting them in place.
I love how he matched up the pattern with the rest of the floor.
Also, he was careful to make sure the entire shower floor slopes to the drain so there will be no standing water.
The drain comes with these leveling feet that you adjust so that it sits in the base perfectly level and doesn’t wobble, and it has a removable screen to catch hair from going down in the pipe.
Overall, I was happy with how this turned out. Let me know if you’re team traditional drain or if you like these new linear drains. @hausplans
