Installing Dual Wheels on a Ventrac

We’re going to put dual wheels on this Ventrac and turn it into an 8-wheel beast.
The first thing I need to do is raise one side a couple inches off the ground.
This tractor already has the inner hubs installed- they’re threaded to receive the dual wheels.
The axel extension threads onto the inner hub.
Once you get it lined up, spin the wheel clockwise until it’s hand tight- there should be about a ½” gap between the two tires.
Next, I tighten the draw bolt by hand; then I grab a torque wrench and a 1” socket to finish the job.
It gets torqued to 120-foot pounds.
Tightening the draw bolt pulls this cone in which expands the threads and locks the wheel in place.
Once all four wheels are done, I hook up to the tough-cut mower attachment.
I’ve got a stockpile of topsoil that I’m getting ready to move, and it’s really overgrown with tall weeds, brush, and some small trees; so, I want to mow it down before I start loading it into trucks.
With the high price of topsoil in our area, I try to save any that I can.
The dual wheels on this tractor really help it climb and make it super stable.
Let me know in the comments- can you think of another wheeled machine that can climb as good as a Ventrac? @hausplans
