The brother of Soleiman Faqiri reached out to The Fifth Estate to help find out how he died in his jail cell two years ago. Eleven days before his death, Faqiri, who suffered from mental illness, was arrested for an altercation with a neighbour. Our investigation uncovers Faqiri died after an interaction with jail guards at Central East Correctional Centre in Ontario.
