New York has a new law that is sure to traumatize landlords, as it allows tenants to sue them if the landlord tries to raise rent. Also, even if tenants leases expire, landlords cannot evict them without ‘just cause’. This might sound like a win for renters, but when all the city’s landlords go broke and stop maintaining there buildings, where will people live?
