HOW DO I SAVE MONEY

1. ENTERTAINMENT
Going out to a restaurant
Eating out can put a big dent in your budget, so if you are serious about cutting costs you should limit how often you dine out. But there are ways to lower the cost of a night out at a nice restaurant:

Going to events: Theater, concerts, sporting events and more
• Find fun, free events in your area. Many communities offer a wide range of events that are free or have minimal charges. Events range from lectures to community plays to sporting events and art gallery openings. Some of the best places to look: Local colleges and universities, city libraries, parks and recreation offices, community calendars and web sites, local tourism agencies and chambers of commerce.

2. FOOD
Most people—after they do a budget—are shocked to find out how much they’re actually spending at the grocery store each month. And if you’re the average American family of four (with two kids 5 and under), you’re probably spending around $929.1 Yikes! It’s so easy to walk through those aisles, grabbing a bag of Oreos here and a few bags of chips there, and then top it off with the fun goodies at the register.

3.SHOPPING
Tip 1: Make the Store Your Last Choice
Most people’s default response is to go to a store anytime they need something, but that’s not the only way to obtain a needed item. Ask yourself these questions about the desired item:

Tip 2: Negotiate Price When Possible
Some prices are set in stone, and it’s a waste of time trying to negotiate with someone who won’t budge. However, when you think there’s some wiggle room.

Tip 3: Time Your Purchase
If you wait to purchase something until you need it, you’re likely to pay the sticker price, but with a little advanced planning, you can save big bucks.

Tip 4: Find a Substitute
If the item you want to buy doesn’t quite fit into your budget, think about similar but less expensive alternatives. Figuring out the real reason behind a pending purchase can help you brainstorm ways to achieve the same result more affordably.

4. House
One great way to lower your utility bills is by cutting down on your heating and air conditioning use. You can do this by dividing your home into zones that allow you to focus on heating or cooling the rooms or areas that are being used.

You can control each zone of your home with individual thermostats, or you can take a simpler approach for less upfront cost. Simply close all of the doors and vents in rooms that aren’t being used to reduce wasted energy. You can also set up fans throughout your home to increase or redirect airflow. Lastly, don’t forget to close off your fireplace when it’s not in use to prevent air from escaping.
