I’m gonna bury this airline between these two buildings using this CAT 305 Mini excavator. @catconstructiontrade
The air compressor in the first building is big enough to meet the demand of two buildings, so rather than buying another air compressor we’re going to save the customer thousands by connecting a line between the two.
I love how fast the hydraulics are on this new 305 and it tore through this clay and compacted gravel like nothing.
Not only that but it’s been super hot here and I was really impressed with how well the AC works.
Operating a machine with a quiet, comfortable, dust-free cab makes all the difference.
Once I got the ditch dug, I slid the air line through the foundation sleeve that we had put in earlier; then I rolled out the tubing the length of the ditch.
Next, I used this new 265 CTL to put a layer of sand over the line, this will protect it from any sharp rocks when I backfill.
I piled up all the extra dirt that we didn’t need to cover the ditch- we will be able to use this on another job.
The visibility out of the cab on these next generation machines is pretty impressive, along with a back-up camera and large display screen- it’s really easy to see what you’re doing.
Which would you rather operate- the 265 or the 305 mini excavator? @hausplans
