What is remote vampirism? During the 1930s the French Administrators of their then colony Mauritania, reported multiple instances of people who were either almost completely drained of their blood, or had their organs supernaturally extracted from their body by what locals called “vampires”. From Ancient Sumer to 1930s Mauritania and Ethiopia, we examine the mysterious and various types of the phenomena called vampirism.
