The City Made Us Put In This 300 Foot Sidewalk To Nowhere

It’s going to cost a $mall Fortune. @hausplans
Where am I going? I’m on the sidewalk to nowhere.
The city made us put in this 300-foot sidewalk once our warehouse was done- even though it doesn’t connect to anything.
So, we got permission to shut down one of the lanes in front of the property this way we could put in the sidewalk without ruining the nice grass we’ve got growing.
The sidewalk has to be 5’ wide, so this 5 foot wide ditch cleaning bucket on the mini worked out perfect.
They just pulled the truck alongside as they went and dumped it right in.
It’s cool how this bucket tilts, so they could slope the ground next to the sidewalk.
We brought in my friend’s Stone Slinger- this truck uses a giant conveyor belt to place crushed stone, or in this case 21A, right where you need it.
The driver controls everything from a wireless remote.
The stone slinger is so much cleaner than dumping piles with a dump truck.
Next, we compacted the 21A with a plate tamper.
We dialed in these ½” smooth bars where the new sidewalk will meet this existing concrete drain.
This will keep the sidewalk from settling lower than the drain while allowing for expansion and contraction.
Let me know in the comments if you want to see the sidewalk to nowhere being poured.
