I love taking a good hot bath.
We’ve had a couple builders tell us in the comments that they like to spray foam their tubs, so the bath water stays hot longer.
I’m going to try it on the tub we’re putting in our new house using a Wide Spray Kit from Great Stuff.
The kit comes with both fan and cone nozzles.
I’m starting with a blue fan nozzle. The tip is adjustable for a vertical or horizontal spray.
I have to say- This stuff is really fun to use, it kind of reminded me of painting a car or something. The foam comes out so even and it adhered well to the fiberglass.
I can definitely see how this would help to keep the water warm longer.
Next, I put on one of the cone nozzles for precision spray.
I’ll use it to spray the gap between the fiberglass and the plywood at the bottom of the tub.
This foam is tack-free in 10 minutes and cuttable in one to two hours.
Now for the hard part… getting a decent plumber that will show up on time and get the job done right.
Let me know in the comments if you’ve ever used “Pinky’s Plumbing”. @hausplans
