Both the Director of the FBI and an FCC Commissioner are warning Congress of the national security threat posed by TikTok because of its data collection practices and their connection to the Chinese Government.
With 5 states banning TIkTok on state owned phones and computers and the State of Indiana filing 2 lawsuits against TikTok, it looks like pressure is mounting for Congress to take action in the near future. Some federal agencies already ban the use of TikTok on federally owned phones and computers.
