After decades of being stable, the U.S. incarceration rate rose 340% between 1980 and 2000. About 42% of that increase is attributable to the “war on drugs” but what about the other 58%. This video explores how a handful of U.S. companies profited from, and may have contributed to, the dramatic increase in incarceration rates.
