Why Has Google Paid $497,000,000 (so far) in Privacy Lawsuits? #shorts

Over the past 2 months, Google has settled location tracking privacy lawsuits with 42 states for a total of $497 million. There have been 3 other lawsuits filed by Texas, Washington State and Washington DC that have not yet been settled.
Google was caught tracking and logging user’s physical location even after users turned off location tracking in the settings on their phones.
While $497 million dollars may sound like a lot of money, it only represents about 0.25% of Google’s annual ad revenue making it essentially a rounding error on Google’s profit and loss statement.
